Get real specific and acknowledge the emotion that you are feeling.
THEN? Nothing. Do nothing. Don’t try to explain the reason you are feeling it, don’t attempt to get rid of it, change it, or assign blame.
State the following “I am experiencing the emotion __________________.”
Then pause…
If you are having trouble figuring out what emotion you are feeling print out the following, it’s a wheel of emotions curated by yours truly (that’s me!) Don’t be afraid to use the dictionary and thesaurus to really nail down the emotions you are feeling.
