“Finding it & Flipping it” Is a classic coaching technique, it involves taking the negative emotion that you are experiencing and flipping it to a positive emotion. The intention behind the exercise is great, the outcome skips a step; neutrality.
If you think about the process of life on a continuum negative on one side, and positive on the either, you’ll find neutral in the middle.
When there is a battle or war going on and they are looking for peace, it doesn’t involve making the situation more positive, it focuses on neutrality.
If you are battling negative emotions seek to neutralize them, not transfer the energy to being positive.
